I just recently purchased PSCS2 and i'm having a major meltdown here *grins*. I want to learn about camera raw so i took several photos in raw format, downloaded them to my hard drive and when i try to open them in PSCS2 i get an error message that the file can't be opened because it's not the right kind of document? It shows the thumbnail in the open dialog box but it won't open it. Also, i'm trying to find if there is a menu item that will allow me to check the file associations.....

Any suggestions? Thanks for any and all help!

Pam

YUP you gotta get the files that will let Photoshop recognize your kind of camera--don't melt--it'll work and you'll LOVE IT. Go to Adobe.com and then "search" for camera raw. TRY THIS LINK (http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html) There's bound to be information about the plug-in you need for you particular camera, --and how to install it correctly. I had to do it too. Never fear--you'll rarely shoot "program" again--RAW IS AWESOME, and you are left with a PERMANENT digital negative that can't be ruined. Good Luck and let us know if you figure this out. Also check with your camera manufacturer for information. Adobe honors almost every one, even the newest newest!
