About layer styles etcin PSE 6

I tried loading scrappersguide layers styles and they are not there and i can not find it in the help part.what is the right way to load these.Thanks

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\6.0\Locale\<en_US or your locale>\Photo Creations\layer styles

Hi ...

When you install the styles they will only appear under Show All ... so make sure that you are using Show All :)

Okay, here's another good piece of info from Barbara Brundage. If you put something in the wrong place, and then have to move it to the right place you will need to delete the "Media database" file here:

To do that, quit PE, then you want to find <windows volume>:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\6.0. MediaDatabase.db3

PSE 6.0 will automatically rebuild it when it starts.

To make them show in categories you have to edit the xml file ... not going to be an easy job for most people :(

Ahh, I guess I'll have to wait until I can download a Trial version so I can futz with the xml file... (Futz is the technical term for "play around with"... :) ) The nice thing about xml is it's readable. So, is the xml file the Media Database file? or something else?

That's okay. Hopefully, someone over at PET will pop in with the details or point to them. I wonder why they made it more complicated than PSE 5.0. Hmmm. This is the kind of stuff I wished they'd put in the manuals.

The xml files are in Windows volume>:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\6.0\Locale\<installed locale>\Photo Creations Metadata\

Wags, he probably will, though editing an xml file can be a challenge, even using software that specializes in it.
