My DH recently bought me CS3 when Adobe ran their upgrade special. I have been using PSE4( on my Mac) for a while now and I am really comfortable with it. Even though we got a great deal on CS3 I want to make sure I get my money's worth. What resources can you guys direct me to so that I can really learn all of the power in CS3? PSE sat on my computer for years before I even realized all I could do with it. I don't want to repeat that. I am a premier member so I know I can count on Linda's videos to educate me some. I am just looking for a well rounded training site or book that I can get. Have any of you done any online training on CS3? What are your favorite books? Thanks in advance for your help!
Jenn

I would recommend Scott Kelby's book. Check it out here (http://www.amazon.com/Photoshop-CS3-Down-Dirty-Tricks/dp/0321503058/ref=sr_1_6/002-8290246-8285666?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1191966446&sr=1-6).

And I recommend that you become a NAPP (http://www.photoshopuser.com)member. Wonderful training opportunities there, and don't forget the wonderful Adobe forums and Adobe exchange for goodies. You're talking about transitioning and re-training in the basic program, and all of those will help, so your scrapbooking using CS3 will be so easy with everything Linda has for us!

Hi, I HIGHLY recommend lynda.com which is a video based training site for most of the software that is available. It does offer free video's but it is limited. to be able to access all of the training it is only $25.00 a month and it sooooo worth every dime. some of my favorite trainers are there such as Deke McClelland who is on NAPP tv a lot and also Bert Monroy which is by far the greatest digital artist EVER! He is just simply amazing. It is the best money I spend monthly, that is except for this site which I enjoy every bit as much. BTW, where is the stuff for October?????

Thanks everyone! That Lynda.com site is cool. I had never heard of it. Becoming a NAPP seems like a good idea as well. Still haven't checked out the book by Kelby yet but I love one of his that I have for elements. Thanks everyone!

When I purchased my CS 3, when I registered it, I got a choice of a free item...I took the 31 free days at Lynda.com. Did a ton of tuts.
Sign up for Photoshop Killer Tips and if you don't sign up for NAPP, watch the free weekly NAPP TV video, formerly called Photoshop TV.
I guess it depends on what you are INTO regarding the books. I have the a Kelby book, the David Cross book, the Katrin Eiseman book, Classroom in a book, just got the red one....Martin Evening book...but my husband said they didn't do a good job updating that for CS3 and he said they make some assumptions that you know stuff (I've not looked at that book yet. He's just starting to learn PS). The O'Reilly, receipe books are pretty good and they are cheap. I've got 2 or 3 of them. Got the How to Cheat book, although, I think that one makes a lot of assumptions. I actually have alot of books. Like them.
I'd go to a local bookstore...sit down and grab a pile of them...and see what trips you trigger. That's what I do. Then I order them off of Borders or BK. I've got to make my list for Christmas soon.
Learn to GOOGLE also. There are sooooooooooo many great sites with a lot of great tuts.
You'll be fine in 2-4 weeks. It's a great program.
Oh...want to mention this site. I've been doing the tuts on for a few weeks. They send you an email when they have new stuff:

Sprague Lab (http://spraguelab.squarespace.com/photoshop-friday-index/) has a lot of tutorials for CS. I get her "photoshop friday" newsletter even though I only use PSE. Lots of really interesting stuff for scrapping with CS (and PSE if you can figure out the work arounds.)
