Hi ...
I tend to use the polygonal lasso and erase the excess :)

Hi Wendy! That's what I kind of thought...so I don't have to do angles and etc! Do you circle the excess or how do you do that?? I would have thought like paper cutting taking a exacto knive, slicing the corners down and matching them up? Not sure how to do this with the polygonal tool?? Also, I'm trying to figure out how to make a simple straight edge and then add the scallop border to it..I basically want to keep it simple...I'm just using the brushes that Linda included! Thanks!

Hi ..
I first put the two sections together .. so say one across the top and one down the side.
Then I just use the polygonal lasso to make the straight edge and then loop it around the excess area then either use the eraser on it or do Edit>Delete. Once I have done that I do Select>Inverse and erase the exess from the other section. That gives me a nice clean matching edge. :)

I do it on separate layers, nudging the detail so that they conform the way I want them to--then cut them (as Wendy detailed) with the polygonal lasso, on each of the layers (no feathering) and then onepx nudge together. Her directions are perfect. Do let us know how you do with this--wonderful technique for beautiful wooden or brushed metal frames.

Thanks Priss & Wendy! I'm going to try that! I'ts a little difficult to see on lace!
One more questions please! I'm trying to add shadow to the lace...too dark!! I've even tried lowering the shadow down really far...Yuck! What can I do???

Recommend you do not try to shadow lace. You can make a faux shadow on another completely different layer, and change the color, but don't try to do it on the original lace layer, it just plain ruins your lace, (imo!)

Hi ..
I agree with Priss, shadows on lace just don't work. I use a new layer and do the shadow on that :)

I also agree. When I work with lace or vellum, it just looks so much better to create a custom shadow on a separate layer. -c-

I got it! I used the custom shadow technique that Linda taught! Voila! It worked!!
