Hello. I have decided to use viovio.com for the printing of my first scrapbook, and even though I am not close to having it finished I decided to go ahead and start uploading some of the pages I have finished. Some pages the fonts look fine, but one of my pages a font is missing completely, as if I never typed anything in the journal area. I read on their site that,
1. You must embed all fonts. This is often a setting in the PDF export or distiller dialog box.

I am wondering if this is my problem, as I cannot find what they are talking about. Any idea where I make sure that my fonts are embeded? What exactly does this mean, and is it something that I should turn on for all times?

Another question for anyone who has used viovio for printing. It seems that they have a limit of 200MB for picture storage. If my scrapbook is going to be close to 100 pages, am I going to run into storage problems?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Kelly

I have never used Viovio, but if you Simplify your text layers to make them regular pixel layers you shouldn't have any font problems because there won't be any fonts in your file anymore. I would not save your original that way, however, because you will not be able to edit your type anymore. Just save your copy for uploading that way. I'm not sure either about an option to embed fonts, as I am at work and can't peek through the menus to see if it is there. Hope it works out for you!

When you change your file to a jpeg it basically is the same as flattening it so whatever is there should stay put. By any chance did you have a text layer turned off when you saved it as a jpeg, or could you have uploaded a psd file? Sometimes when folks upload psd files all the layers end up as seperate photos.

Don't try to make PDF's just upload jpegs. And since you are going to uploading a large book - contact customer service about setting up an FTP account. It will still take a while to load - but it makes the process a lot easier. And a 100 page book will likely exceed the limit - but I bet customer service will be willing to help you out there too.

I just recently did my book there and I contact customer service to increase my file size, and have the ftp account. When I originially sent my layouts via FTP of them came through w/o a problem. But when I found two mistakes and went to just upload them that is when I got into file size issues. Even deleting the two pages did not do the trick either. They were very halpful. I also just uploaded jpeg files. Mine has 75 layouts in it and it is wonderful. I love it. It's aslo a 10 x 10 hardbound book.
