Could you tell me how to erase in a straight line? I know I used to be able to shift click and it would erase obediently, but it doesn't work any more and I can't figure out what I must have mucked up. Thanks for any help! ..Abby:)

Hi Abby ...

It should work OK. Is this what you are doing ... click once where you want to start erasing and the shift click where you want the erasing to end ??

That's what I thought too Wendy - I click at the beginning and then hold the shift key and click at the end ... and I get two holes with the rest still sitting there in the middle :) .... it's driving me crazy. At least I was right that it used to work! I must have changed something, but I can't imagine what it is. It's not the caps lock key as I keep checking that. Hopefully someone else has had this happen and knows what I've done! Thanks though!! ..Abby

Hi Abbey ...

Try resetting the tool ... get the eraser, then look at the top of the screen and you will see an eraser icon (top left). Click on that and then click on the small black triangle top right of the small screen that pops up ... then just choose reset tool.

Fingers crossed that works and sorts it out :)

Another thing to be sure of---that you're on the "right" eraser tool (not the background or magic) Double check your sequence too.
Click--to orient, move to the destination (end of the line you want to erase, but don't do anything except move the mouse there) When you're there hold down the shift key first, then click the mouse and the erased line should go straight from the source to the destination. It's possible that you are clicking at the destination before you have held the shift key down.

LET us know!

Yippee!!! Thanks so much Wendy and Priss - I reset it and it's working fine now! Was right ready to rip out my hair - my hand isn't steady enough to erase in a straightish line and it really matters on some things! Thank you, thank you!!!

Hi Abbey ...

So glad that you are now able to erase again ... are you working on something special ??

Thanks again Wendy - nope, nothing special, just seems that everything I do requires erasing at some point :) ... makes it nice that I can!! ..Abby

So far I have not had any problems with the eraser tool, but I was very glad to learn about the reset. Had not know of that before! There are so many goodies hiding under those little black triangles!
Thanks Wendy!
Just hope I can remember!
