I started Scrapping about 3 years ago with a friend that got me hooked on it.
I scrapbook for many reasons. Mainly to preserve memories, but also I love the creativity you can put into scrapbooking and also the fact that you can tell a story about the photo's rather than stick them in a photo album and years down the track not remember what or when those photo's were taken. It is also an outlet for stress and "me" time. |

When my Grandson was born my daughter looked after him for a year and then had to decide whether to stay at home or go back to work. She told me one night that she would be looking for a Nanny for her son so that she could go back to work. I said to her that I would be happy to look after him and after consulting her husband she said she would appreciate having someone she knows to look after her son. That was 2 years ago and I have had the most enjoyable time doing just that.
I have recorded all that we have done and each six months do a page on what we have done for the week. My daughter gave me a digital camera when I started so that I could record my Grandson's life and I hare endevoured to do that. I have also decided to make a copy of my life so that when, or if, I have Alzcheimer's disease I will at least know who I am supposed to be. Avis |

I am a new senior computer user. I wish to learn how to scrapbook as when I first learned how to use the pc I seemed to be doing nothing creative. all I seemed to do was play games. Now I am learning how to frustrate myself with adobe. So hopefully you will see some results soon. yours faithfully

I scrap because it is a hobby my girlfriend and I found and it gives us a great excuse to catch up for a day and re-live our precious memories we were probably too busy to enjoy at the time. It is a great time waster on a rainy day and it is highly addictive...I probably buy 3 times as what I need...I just love it!!!

Why do I scrapbook? Well, I started out scrapbooking one day when I walked into a new store....a scrapbook store. To my family it was, here she goes again, another hobby. They say that because I love to paint, quilt, dabble in flowering arranging, and now scrapbooking. However, what I found with scrapbooking was it's not just a hobby or another craft, it a way that I can record someone so near and dear to me, which is my family, friends, and of course my pets. It's a passion for me because I love my family and friends and I feel so blessed. Scrapbooking allows me the freedom to relive those moments and record those memories for all to share. When I started as a paper scrapper of course I had to have everything. That is what made my husband say "not another craft, this place is full of all your craft stuff...." With Digital I can escape to my computer, create in my own little cyberspace and end result is so, so rewarding.

My main reason to scrapbook is that my only child will be going off to college next year and I want to "relive" his youth and our life together by scrapping all our family memories. Unfortunately, I just got into scrapbooking last year so I have a lot of years to catch up on

I guess it would be the same reason I LOVE to take pictures. I want to save my memories of my vacations, holidays, birthdays etc. Children grow up and it is fun to look back on memories and see how people and things have changed. Scrapbooking makes the memories last longer and helps to tell the story.
It gives the person looking at the pictures more insite to what was going on at the time by the way the pictures were scrapped and journaled. I have a daughter and granddaughter that I have tons of pictures of. My granddaughter is 9 and when she was a year old I started to write a journal on her. I started it for the reason that as time goes by it is harder and harder to remember every little detail of things you wish you could remember. I didn't do it for my daughter and I wish I had.
