Default diamonds and gold

Hello,

I really would like to know how I can create diamonds in text of gold, and a diamond background, a diamond ring.. things like this. I have searched the internet for tutorials but for whatever reason it is not working out for me. Plus, I wanted to use it for my name and the one tutorial that I found, the text he was using looked pretty when he had done it, but with that same font, I didn't like the way the letter "L" in italic looked.
I run CS3 and elements 4 on windows XP

Thanks, Linda

Hi Linda ...

... and welcome to Scrapper's Guide

Did you try it with another font ... I would think that there should be others around that it work with then maybe have an L that you like ...

I do this with a starbrush, or with a lens flare (depending on the size of the jewel) Good luck, and be sure to let us see what you come up with.

Default diamonds and gold

Wendy,
Yes, I did try it with another font but I must be doing something wrong. I had even bought a beautiful font called AyresRoyal, which doesn't give me a bold version of it.

Priss, if I figure it out, I would be sure to show you what I do, but I was really hoping that this would be the place to come to for a beginners tutorial. <s> I've emailed Linda S. to request such a tutorial, I hope she does it.

Thanks, Linda

Linda see if this is what your looking for. I've used this on text, with a bold font and it works real well.

Tutorial is here.

Default bling bling

Marge,

Thank you, you wouldn't happen to know if this tutorials noise is meant to be "0" or not? Because there is a )% there..
Also, the diamond that they give to download is in .gif.. If I'm going to print it out, then I could use that.. shouldn't it be in .psd?

Thanks, Linda

The noise is 0. (I right clicked on the image and did a open in new window and it was a larger size so I could read it)

If you're talking about the diamond that one downloads on the site, you're only using that to define (make) a pattern, so it doesn't matter that it is a gif. You're then using that pattern in your LO. Your LO will still be a psd unless you're saving your LO as gif.

By the way, neat site that was referenced.

Sorry, Linda, I didn't understand your question. I didn't realize you meant diamond shapes, I thought you meant diamond jewels/facets/sparklies....
Hope you find a satisfactory answer to your question.
