Also, see below for information on how you can get my new training for Photoshop Elements 7 FREE when you purchase Photoshop Elements 7 at Costco! (If you're not a Costco member, find out how you can still get this money-saving bundle.)

Video 1: Welcome Screen and User Interface in Photoshop® Elements 7.0!

In this video I'll tell you about the new Photoshop.com membership program which has free and paid levels, and I'll also show you a couple new features about the interface. Photoshop Elements 7 looks a lot like Photoshop Elements 6, so you may not be aware of this change unless someone tells you.

Video 1 covers the new Welcome Screen and some updates in the User Interface.

Video 3: Use Third Party Actions in Photoshop® Elements 7.0!

There are hundreds of free or for-sale actions available on the web. In this lesson Linda will teach you how to install 3rd party actions using an action she made called "Scrapper's Guide Custom Shadow.atn."

You can download the Custom Shadow action and a PDF manual with all the steps written out. Watch the video to see how Linda uses the action to create a custom shadow in seconds that makes the photo appear to be popped up off the page!

Answers To Questions About Photoshop® Elements 7.0

Can you use the arrow keys to move objects?

Yes! This bug has been fixed in PSE7.

Does dragging from the Project Bin (Photo Bin) take away the transparency of png files?

No, transparency is maintained, but it does change the png into a Smart Object, which changes the size. If you don't want the png file to turn into a Smart Object, use one of the following methods to move it onto your page:

• Use the Move tool to click and drag the png file directly from one document to another.
• Make the png document active and drag from the desktop to the thumbnail of your page in the Project Bin using the Move tool.
• Choose Select > All to put an outline around the entire png file. Choose Edit > Copy, then move to your scrapbook page and choose Edit > Paste.

How do I transfer my old Organizer catalog when I upgrade to the new version?

Don't uninstall your old version before installing the new one. The first time you open the Organizer in Photoshop Elements 7, it will copy the catalog from the previous version. Once this is accomplished, you can uninstall the previous version.
