A Note from Linda: Dancing!

Learn Digital Scrapbooking: Embossed Metal

Tip of the Week: Stenciled Paint Effect

A Note from Linda:

Last Friday my son Caleb announced at the dinner table, “I’m going Irish dancing. You can come if you want.”

You have to understand, Caleb NEVER wanted to dance before, but he’s been trying out new things lately. He assured us there would be 45 minutes of dance lessons first, and then the real dancing would begin.

I didn’t feel like going anywhere that night. It was rainy as usual in January in Portland, and I had a cheery fire burning at home, but the chance to see Caleb actually dancing tipped the balance.

I have to say we had a blast, and it’s a pretty good bet we’ll be back for more! Just goes to show . . . if you don’t try something new, you’ll never know what you’re missing!

Trouble With Your Premier Membership?

Many of you signed up for Digital Scrapper Premier membership a year ago right before I made some major changes. We discovered last week that a technical error kept many of you from getting a renewal notice.

If you were grandfathered in to my original Premier membership program and your membership recently expired, contact Mary@scrappersguide.com to get reinstated. (Give her a few days to get back to you.)

Complete List of Premier Topics by Month

A number of you have let me know that you would like a list of all the topics we’ve taught in the Digital Scrapper Premier membership program since we started in 2005. I’m happy to announce that we’ve done that for you!

Take a look at this list of chronological video tutorials. The tutorials that are currently available in our store are linked to their store pages so you can go check out pictures and find out more about what’s being taught.

You can access this page in the future from the Video Tutorial Library link in our website navigation. We’ll be adding more of the past videos to our store in the coming weeks.

Tip of the Week:

Stenciled Paint Effect
by Sara Horton

Lately, I’ve noticed a new artsy trend in scrapbooking: laying die cuts and punched shapes on a piece of paper then splattering it with a contrasting color of ink or paint. Scrapbookers then remove the shapes to reveal the clean solid image against the speckled background.

As a digital scrapbooker, I immediately thought about how easy this would be to recreate in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. The results are equally beautiful, with a lot less mess.
