Free Introductory Issue

Welcome to the Premier Member
Sample Issue!

This is the place to come for great tips, advanced scrapbooking techniques, and the inside secrets of the pros. Every issue is packed with high quality instruction and cool downloads that you can use right away on your digital scrapbook pages.

Premier Membership is not a physical magazine. It's an e-zine that's all about downloads! You’ll learn what’s in each issue via a page like this on the web.

The Premier web e-zine will be similar in length and style to this free sample, and will feature a quality video tutorial, PDF manual, a kit of coordinated papers and embellishments from hand-picked designers, and occasional downloads related to the month's topic. We will announce each month's new subject in the regular free Digital Scrapper e-zine, but you may log into your Premier account at any time to access the current issue.

New to Digital Scrapbooking?

If you’re just getting started with digital scrapbooking, you may need to learn the basics before you can tackle advanced techniques. Go ahead and download the sample training video anyway. When you watch it, I think you’ll be amazed at the fun things you can do with Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop Elements!

If you like what you see but need to learn the basics, I have a special offer for you which I’ll tell you about in a bit. First, though, let’s take a look at the free downloads I have for you in this sample issue.

Artisan Metal Frames
How to Create the Look of Metal on Your Scrapbook Pages

What’s the best way to learn a new skill? Watch someone else do it, of course!

That’s the experience you’ll have when you download the Artisan Metal Frames video tutorial. You’ll be able to watch over my shoulder as I tell you and show you what to do.

In “Artisan Metal Frames” I’ll show you how to create one-of-a-kind frames that look like metal. These frames can add a touch of whimsy or elegance to your scrapbook pages.

Tutorial Manual
To make it easy for you to learn the techniques taught in the tutorial, I’ve written down all the steps for you in a PDF manual that you can either view on your computer, or print out as a hard copy.

Use it when you first try a new technique, and then save it for future reference.

Note: To view the PDF manual you will need to have Adobe Reader installed on your computer. If you don’t have it, or if you have an outdated version, you can download it for free at www.adobe.com.

Designer Kits!

Every issue of Digital Scrapper Premier comes with a one-of-a-kind designer kit of coordinated papers and embellishments you can use right away in your scrapbooking. Just think how many albums you can complete with gorgeous pages and accessories like these!

Meet the Designer

Jenny Binder

Jenny Binder of Heirloom Scrapbooks

Jenny Binder was born and raised in Nebraska, attended Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, and moved to the Missouri countryside after marrying her farmer husband. They have two children, Juliana and Clayton.

Jenny began paper scrapbooking six years ago. She decided to try digital scrapbooking for her business, Heirloom Scrapbooks, always intending to keep her personal scrapbooks the traditional, paper way. However, the more she learned digital, the more paper scrapbooking frustrated her. She found herself constantly saying things like, “I could get just the right color if I were doing this digitally.” She eventually converted all of her scrapbooking to digital and sold her paper “stuff” in a garage sale.

Jenny doesn't like her layouts to distract from the photos. "I try to keep my pages simple with a little background texture," she says. "As far as products go, I’m willing to try just about anything, but designing heritage paper is probably my favorite."

Out of all of Jenny's hobbies (and she's tried quite a few) scrapbooking appeals the most to her because it takes something you already have and need to do something with (pictures) and does something creative with them. "It’s almost like doing two jobs in one! Gotta love that!"

Here’s what you’ll get in Jenny’s Raspberry Cream Kit:

Two ribbons pieces tied to metal tabs
Eight varied knotted ribbon pieces
One Gold Metal Word Art
Two Distressed Metal Buttons, with holes
Three Metal Buttons, without holes
Three Metal Stars
Two Metal Rose Accents
One set of Distressed Antique Alpha and Numeric 3"x3" Tiles

Other Features

Many issues also features other fun downloads, which might include layer styles, brushes, frames, or other custom products.

Heavy Metal

For instance, in this sample issue you can download a set of metal layer styles that will transform a mat, a shape, some type, or anything you choose to look like metal.

The file that contains the metal layer styles is called “Scrapper’s Guide Metals.asl.” This single file has eight chrome metal styles and five gold or bronze styles. The PDF manual has complete instructions on how to install them, and the video will show you how much fun you can have with them!

Ten Metal Frames

To complement the tutorial on creating metal frames, I’ve created ten unique digital metal frames that you can use right away on your scrapbook pages. In the examples below I’ve added my own photos to show you how nice they look, but the frames you download will each be a separate file with a transparent opening, ready for you to use with YOUR photos!

Frames

The frames come in the easy-to-use PNG for mat. Simply use the Move tool to drag and drop a frame onto your scrapbook page, or, if you prefer, use the copy and paste method:

  • Open the frame of your choice (File > Open)
  • Choose “Select All” from the Menu Bar.
  • Choose “Edit > Copy” from the Menu Bar.
  • >Open your scrapbook page and choose “Edit > Paste” from the Menu Bar.

The Best Way to Download

Premier Membership is all about downloads. In every issue you’ll get plenty to download, but not all computers or browsers react the same, so follow these instructions for best results:

  • Right click on the download link (Mac: Control click) and choose “Save Target As” or a similar save option if your browser says something different.
  • Choose a location for the download. I recommend that you create a new folder on your desktop where you can keep all your Scrapper’s Guide downloads.
  • Click okay to begin the download.
  • When the download is complete, navigate to the folder you created, and you should find the video clip or product there.
  • If the file is zipped it will need to be extracted before it is usable. In Windows, right click on the file and choose “extract” or “extract all.” On the Mac, double click the file.
  • Still having trouble? Have dial up? Click here for further suggestions and instructions.

Please Note: The video clip is in QuickTime format, so you’ll need to have QuickTime installed on your computer in order to view the tutorial. If you don’t have QuickTime yet, you can get it free at www.apple.com.

Occasionally subscribers will write to say that they’ve downloaded QuickTime, but the video still won’t play. If that’s your situation, it probably means that QuickTime hasn’t been properly installed. Click here for help with installing QuickTime.

Thanks for giving Digital Scrapper Premier a try, and I hope you have fun with it!

Happy digital scrapbooking,
