Digital + Traditional

It works for you and your customer.

Don't let the digital revolution pass you by! Here are five ways to profit by adding digital to your mix of products and services:

Sell digital products in your store
I guarantee the majority of your customers are already using some form of digital on their scrapbook pages. If you introduce them to "retail friendly" digital products (such as those listed below) you can teach them how to create fast and easy "hybrid" pages that start with digital and end with products YOU sell!

Sell embellishments that complement the digital products you carry.
For example, if you offer the Scrapper's Guide Pet CDs (shown below), make sure you have pet themed charms, brads, stickers, etc. to go with the pages. Display a sample spread to give the customer an idea of how she can embellish her digital page with YOUR products!

Offer a printing service for customers who don't have a large format printer.
Charge on a per sheet basis and make a profit on each print. You could also carry papers and inks that digital scrapbookers use.

Carry albums that match the theme of the digital products you sell.
If you carry the pet CDs, for example, scrapbookers will need an 8 x 8 pet album to put their finished pages in. The Family Yearbook album will need a 12 x 12 album.

Teach classes on how to create fast and easy hybrid pages.
Don't feel that you have to be the expert. Find a customer or employee who is already enthusiastic about digital, and let them be the instructor. Educate your customers to combine digital with traditional elements for the best of both worlds!

What is a "Retail Friendly" product?

A retail friendly product is one that allows a scrapbooker to use digital, but encourages the use of traditional products as well.

For example, all three CDs shown below contain templates to help scrapbookers finish an entire album quickly. Each CD gives a choice of using "Digital Templates" or "Paper Templates." The Paper Templates are less ornate, or less "finished," so the scrapbooker can print out her pages and adhere 3-D objects to complete her page, giving it a hand-crafted look in a lot less time!
