Q. I purchased one of your training CDs already. Do I need to upgrade to the new version?

A. Most of time I would say no. I keep the material pretty much the same from version to version, only adjusting for the changes Adobe makes to the new software.

Q. I'm a beginner to digital scrapbooking. Which CD should I purchase?

A. I recommend that you purchase The Scrapper's Guide to Adobe Photoshop Elements, Volume 1, Digital Scrapbook Basics. In this CD I assume you know nothing about digital scrapbooking, so I take you step-by-step through everything you need to know to use Photoshop Elements for scrapbooking.

If you’re really serious about learning digital scrapbooking, I recommend that you purchase a Premier Membership first (my advanced scrapbooking web newsletter) and then purchase Volume 1 from the Premier Member’s Store, because members get a $10 discount on Volume 1.

Volume 2, Fabulous Photos & Pages, is more advanced. It focuses on fixing your photos and using your photos creatively on your scrapbook pages. If you are pretty confident about your computer skills, you might be able to start with Volume 2, and do fine, but in general, I still think it's best to start with Volume 1. I've had several people write to say that they had used Photoshop Elements for several years and were amazed at how much they learned from the Volume 1 CD.

Q. Will your CDs work with Elements 3.0?

A. Yes. Volume 1 and 2 for Elements 4 also contain a complete training track for Elements 3.

Q. Will your CDs work with Elements 2.0?

A. Yes. Volume 1 for Elements 4 has a complete training track for Elements 3 and 4, and it has a web link you can click on to download additional training videos and a manual for Elements 2. You will follow the Elements 3 training track most of the time, but when there is a major difference, I've supplied a video filmed in Elements 2. A Quick Guide tells you which video to watch.

Volume 2 for Elements 4 has training for Elements 2 right on the CD in a folder named "Elements 2." Again, most of the time you would follow the Elements 3 track, but the Quick Guide will tell you when to substitute an Elements 2 video.

Q. Are your CDs compatible with a Mac?

A. Yes. When I filmed Volume 1 for Elements 4, the prevailing message from Adobe was that there would be no Mac version of Elements 4.0, so I didn't include the keyboard shortcuts for the Mac on the video. When I found out that there would, indeed, be a Mac version, I included a clickable link on the interface for all Mac users. That way Mac users can access additional training material specifically for the Mac.

Q. I have both Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop Elements on my computer. Which Scrapper's Guide training CD should I order?

A. Eventually we will have a complete Volume 1 for Adobe Photoshop CS2, but right now we only have a hybrid. We currently send a Photoshop Elements Volume 1 training CD with an addendum disk for Adobe Photoshop. The addendum contains additional video training for Adobe Photoshop in areas that differ from Photoshop Elements. It also includes a complete manual for Adobe Photoshop.

The best value, then, would be to purchase the Adobe Photoshop Version because you'll get the full Photoshop Elements version with it.

When I've completely finished filming Volume 1 for Adobe Photoshop, you will have to decide which program you plan to use and order accordingly.

Q. I've seen other digital scrapbook training programs. Why should I pick yours?

A. I will let my customers speak for me. Click here to read unsolicited real testimonials from real customers who agreed to let me quote them.

Having said that, I would be the last to say I'm the only game in town. I myself have learned from a variety of sources. Just beware of teachers whose main interest is to teach you enough so you can use the products they sell on their website, unless that is all you're interested in.

My philosophy is to teach you how to do it yourself. Then you have a choice of either doing it yourself or using someone else's products

Q. I’m not a computer whiz. Can I really do this?

A. Yes, you can! Let me tell you a little secret. I’m not a computer whiz either. (Shhhhh! Don’t tell anybody!) Seriously, until I began digital scrapbooking I mainly used the computer for word processing. But something happens when you’re motivated, when you realize the potential for making incredible scrapbook pages. You stick with it until you learn it! So that’s what I did.

But YOU don’t have to flounder around like I did because I already blazed the trail for you. All you have to do is look over my shoulder and watch me do it and listen to me explain what I’m doing. And since I’m not a computer whiz, I don’t assume anyone else is either when I teach.

But please, don’t ask me to look up any library books on line. My teenage daughter does that for me . . .

Q. Is there a VHS version of The Scrapper’s Guide to Adobe Photoshop Elements?

A. At this time we only have CDs.

Q. Can I order by check?

A. Yes. There are options for personal check and money order during checkout in the shopping cart. Our address is on the receipt.

Q. Which forms of payment do you accept?

A. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover via a secure, encrypted server. We use Authorize.net as our card processor. They are outstanding, safe, and are used by thousands of merchants on the web. We also accept PayPal.

If you prefer, you may also pay by check or money order by choosing that option in the shopping cart, although we do wait for checks to clear before mailing product.

Q. Do you have a guarantee?

A. Absolutely. You have a full 90 days to decide whether or not this program is for you. If you decide it isn’t, you can either give it to your teenager (who just might use it to help with schoolwork or even scrapbook) or you can send it back for a full refund, no questions asked. Fair enough?

Q. Do you also have training for Paint Shop Pro?

A. No. My time is so limited that I've chosen to concentrate entirely on Photoshop Elements and Adobe Photoshop.

Q. Will your training videos help me learn other photo editing programs?

A. The videos in my training CDs are specifically for Photoshop Elements or Adobe Photoshop. It's likely that some of the information overlaps with other photo editing programs, but since I've only worked with Photoshop & Elements, I can't make any guarantees about their suitability with other programs.
