Problems With Scrapper’s
Guide Training CDs
When I double click on the "Start Here" document,
the Video Interface doesn't open. What is wrong?
The interface opens, but, when I click on
the link for the lesson, nothing happens.
Q. When I double click on the “Start
Here” document, the Video Interface doesn't open. What is
wrong?
A. This is not a common problem, but if this
happens to you, try this: Open your browser (such as
Internet Explorer) and then choose "File > Open File" (or
a similar command). Navigate to the “Start Here” file
on the CD-ROM and click open. This will usually solve the problem.
If you still have trouble, try a different browser, such as Netscape or Firefox.
Q. The interface opens, but when I click
on the link for the lesson nothing happens.
A. It sounds like you probably don't have QuickTime
installed on your computer, which the videos require in order to
play. Sometimes people will download QuickTime and think that's
all they need to do, but it has to be properly installed in order
for it to work. You may download
QuickTime from the Apple website.
After you've downloaded and unzipped the file, double click on
the iTunesSetup.exe file and follow the instructions in the installation
wizard. If you don't want iTunes to be your default music software,
uncheck that option when prompted. Once the installation is finished,
QuickTime will be active and the videos should play.
To start the Scrapper's Guide interface,
double click on the Start Here icon on the CD. It should open your
default internet browser and display the interface. You do not
need to be connected to the internet to play the videos.
